B.E.E. BINDERS (BRING EVERYTHING EVERYDAY)

Text Box: BEE BINDER

 Bring Everything Everyday

The BEE BINDER is a three-ring notebook that your child will use everyday to develop organizational skills and learn to become responsible for returning items daily. Third grade is the first year for assignment books and organizational skills are taught, and it is important to teach children how to keep up with communications between home and school. The binder is a way of helping your child become accountable for their work and communications.  The focus is to eliminate lost notes, newsletters, calendars, and homework as well as keep parents and students informed of important events and academic progress.  What’s the "buzz" in third grade?  Check out your child’s BEE BINDER every day!

To make sure each student brings their binder back to school each day, they will receive a BEE ticket at the end of each week if they’ve had their binder in class each day. BEE tickets can be used for extra recess; once a student has 10 they get to stay out with the big kids.

Assignment Book

Each day time is devoted to filling out the assignment book. It is initialed by an adult or another student in the room; in turn you are asked to sign it each night once you have seen your child’s completed homework. This generally occurs the last 15 minutes of the day.

 Divider Sections

I have asked you to label each divider; 3rd grade handbook, mini office, The Buzz, Homework, Prayers, Portfolio. This will help organize the students.

I’ve included a divider for The Buzz; each child will be given a copy each Monday unless otherwise noted. It will also be on the class website.

Home Reading

Daily Home Reading - Students will need to get a new reading log each week.  Students can be read to, read with, or read independently.  Copies will be available in the classroom and from the class website if needed. These are due EVERY FRIDAY unless otherwise noted. Reading log grades will be lowered when turned in late.
