Curriculum Notes

Religion: We are beginning our discussion of the Eucharist.  Students were asked to write in their prayer journals tonight about the true presence of Christ in the Eucharist: What would they say to a non-Catholic friend who wants to know about Communion?  I would like to remind students that they are asked to write in their prayer journals for 10-15 minutes each school night.

This week they will study and discuss the material in chapter nine “God’s Word Feeds Us.”

Science: This week we will be looking at the Biomes Chaparral, Tundra, and Desert. This will be followed with a study of the placement of all the biomes of the world and their impact and influences on the functioning of each of the others.

Math:  We are reviewing decimals all week, in preparation for the chapter seven test on Friday.

Literature:  We are beginning our new unit “Making A New Nation.”  I’m excited that we will be talking about the same content in Social Studies class as Literature for the next several weeks.  The first story, “If You Lived at the Time of the American Revolution,” will take us through next week.  The assessment is scheduled for next Thursday.

Language Arts:  In conjunction with the reading curriculum, we will be talking about adjectives and adverbs during the next two weeks.  This week the focus will be on adjectives.

Social Studies:  Students are reviewing for the chapter seven test on Thursday.  Ask to see their blue study guides to help them prepare for the test.

Have a great week!

Mrs. Conrow
