Curriculum Notes
Religion: The Joyful Mysteries assignment will be handed back tomorrow with my comments. Students will be expected to use this assignment as a study guide for their test on the Joyful Mysteries next Tuesday. Also next Tuesday, students will be assessed on their knowledge of the Archdiocesan required vocabulary for first and second graders. They were handed the list of twenty words today on blue paper. This list is also available online. Go to www.seattlearch.org and click on the link for Formation and Education and then the one for K-8 Religious Education.
The chapter three test on “Living the Beatitudes” will be next Wednesday.
Science: No update from Mr. Fairbank this week.
Math: We began ITBS testing today. Math testing will continue through Wednesday. On Thursday and Friday I will work with the students on pinpointing the multiplication facts in need of review.
Literature: The Literature Project for November is due at the end of the month. We have now discussed each of the project handouts. Students with further questions need to bring them to my attention with enough time to complete their project before the end of the month. There will be no new Literature lessons this week due to ITBS testing.
Social Studies: This week we will begin our study of chapter six, “Life in the British Colonies.” We will read through the first lesson and discuss it thoroughly. Later in the week, students will be asked to draw a picture of one of the types of settlements described in this lesson. The chapter six vocabulary quiz will be on Friday.
