Dear Parents,

Students, parents and parishioners raised nearly $2200 for Saint Joseph’s.  So, all students will get a non-uniform day this Friday, January 25.  Thanks to everyone for their generous donations.

All students are being asked to wear their uniform to Mass, this Sunday.  They will receive a free dress coupon this week, which needs to be signed by the parent, verifying that their child wore their uniform to Mass.  This non-uniform day will be Monday, February 4.

It was refreshing to have a day off yesterday.  I hope you enjoyed your extra time with your child.

The students have completed the two lessons in Chapter 11.  Today I assigned the extremely short project for Chapter 11.  It is due Friday, January 25.  Students are to write a journal entry as if they are a caravansary owner.  Students are to describe a typical day, goods they might see, people they might meet and what it is like to meet people they have never seen before.

We will begin reviewing Chapter 11 tomorrow, Wednesday 1/23.  We will have one test for this chapter probably next Tuesday, 1/29.

Have a great week!!

Language Arts: This week we will continue working on verb phrases and verb tenses.  Spelling will be due on Thursday this week, due the holiday on Monday.  We will have our normal spelling test on Friday.

Literature:  The students finished making their setting and character friezes and they are FABULOUS! They are hanging in the hall, so be sure to stop by and see them during the open house on Sunday.  This week we will be reading chapters 6-8 in Roll of Thunder, with a quiz on Friday over these chapters.

Math:  The 7th graders will continue the geometry unit, working on classifying polygons and studying circles.

Have a wonderful week!
