Language Arts: We will be spending the majority of the week finishing up the persuasive essays. Tonight students are supposed to make revisions and be ready to type their papers on Tuesday and Wednesday in class. The final copy will be due on Thursday. We are on a regular schedule for spelling and Root of the Week.
Literature: The
students will continue reading the play “The Flying Tortilla Man” this
week. Once we’ve finished reading it, they will work on the comprehension
questions, followed by a short quiz later in the week (or early next week if
things get tight). In addition, the independent reading requirements for the month of
February are due this Friday.

Mrs. Christianson
Your seventh grade historians are busy preparing for the Chapter 12 test – Friday, February 29. (I announced the test on Friday.) We began reviewing today and will spend the class period tomorrow reviewing the Study Guide.
Seventh graders are also working on a making a sea trade table. Rough drafts were turned in on Friday. I will set the final due date when I return the rough drafts.
I have thoroughly enjoyed watching your children’s dramatic performances! In our study of Chapter 12 I have asked them to act out answers to study questions and to sing vocabulary definitions. They have been both good sports and proficient actors!
Have a great week!!
Math: This week the seventh graders will be working on the following:
· Comparing and ordering fractions
· Adding and subtracting fractions
Last week the students received a WASL workbook. To prepare for the WASL, every Wednesday they will be assigned a number of pages out of this book. This Wednesday pages 106-110 are due. Their next assignment will be pages 111-115, which will be due, Wednesday, March 5.
Progress reports will be sent out this Wednesday, February 17. They need to be signed
and returned by Friday, February 29.
