Academic Information

Literature:  We will be continuing with the Poetry unit this week and reading several different poems.  We won’t be able to finish this unit until after we come back after break.

Language Arts: Today the class received their graded persuasive essays.  I have spent a great deal of time giving feedback on each paper.  Therefore, I am asking everyone to use the comments I’ve given and revise their paper.  I explained to the students that if their paper reflects this revision, their grade will improve.  If they do not make the changes I’ve recommend, their grade will actually be lowered.   The goal is get students to use the feedback they’ve received and improve their work.  Students will also have spelling and root of the week this week.

*** Please note: Several students have not yet returned their permission slips for the play.  Please help them to get these returned.  Today I told the students that the cost would be $16.00 per student.  I know this is pretty high, but it covers the cost of admission for everyone and for parking fees.  Parents who are driving do not need to pay for their ticket.  This student cost will cover it.  Thank you!!
