Seventh grade students are working on a creative response to the The Slave Dancer novel. They have learned how to write an acrostic poem and will apply this new knowledge to writing a poem about the novel.  Students are to choose a point of view and then a goal for the poem: to tell a story, create a mood or express an opinion.  A rough draft of the poem is due Wednesday 4/9.

 

Students will have a test on The Slave Dancer, Tuesday, April 8.

 

We have begun Chapter 13, the study of the Renaissance and the birth of the modern world.  I love this period in history and look forward to sharing it with your children.

Math:  This week we will be working on the following:

·        Solving proportions

·        Writing equations involving proportions

·        Similar figures

 

The students will receive a WASL packet Tuesday, April 8.  This is due Tuesday, April 15.

 

A math progress report will be sent home this Wednesday, April 9.  This needs to be signed and returned by Friday.
