Dear Parents,

Hello 7th grade parents,

As you know, next week (starting Monday, April 21st) the students will begin the WASL, which will continue through Wednesday April 30th.  We have spread out the various tests so that they will have only one test per day.  Tomorrow I will be sending home a copy of the daily testing schedule with your student.  Please take a moment to look it over.  Feel free to email me if you have any questions.  Here is what is on the agenda for this week:

Language Arts:  Our week will mainly be spent on preparing for the Unit 3 English test on Friday.  We will also take some time to review the process for the writing portion of the WASL.  There will be no spelling or root of the week this week since we have much on our plate.

Literature:  The students are continuing their work this week on the famous poet project, which is due Monday, April 21st.  We spent each class period last week working on this and will continue to devote most of the class time this week as well.  We will spend some time also reviewing test taking skills for the reading portion of the WASL.

Thank you,

Pam Schwartz

Math:  This week we are beginning work on percent.  We will be working on the following:

7th Grade Social Studies

11:30 – 12:15 M – F

Mrs. Christianson

annc@saintbrendan.org

Seventh grade students are delving in to the Renaissance period.  We will spend some time in the lab looking at the works of the some of the Renaissance masters.  I have to  hold myself back as I could spend the entire year on this topic!

Your children did well on the Slave Dancer test – I am impressed.  They will make revisions to the Slave Dancer poem.  The final version will be due late this week or early next week.

Have a great week!!
