5th grade

In our continued study of entomology, we will be observing the growth and development rate of the Tenebrio Beetle under different environmental conditions. We will also closely observe the body structure of diplopods, comparing this to what we have learned about insect anatomy.

 

6th grade

The students did a wonderful job on their field trip last Friday! It was a great experience and a wonderful time was had by all. This week we will begin by processing our activities and observations made at the Museum of Flight and continue to observe the dynamics of flight. We will look closely at the history of flight beginning with Kites and moving into parachutes.

 

7th grade

This week we have a guest speaker, Mr. Murnane. He is a professional geologist who works in the field and will be sharing with us some of the aspects of his job. He will include rock and mineral identification, and how he uses this information in his job role. We will also be looking more closely at earthquakes and the potential impacts they have on civilizations.

 

8th grade

This week we are beginning our study of human physiology. We will begin with a study of the circulatory and neurological systems. We will also begin our first dissection, the earth worm.
