This week we introduce the study of the stars and constellations. We will begin with a look at the cultural and historical significance of constellations and how our view of constellations has changed over time. The students will be assigned a group research project to explore these ideas and more about constellations. The project will be due Tuesday April 29th.

This week we will be constructing and testing designs for a capsule capable of traveling to Mars, obtaining samples from the planet, and returning to earth. The primary focus of our designs is to be able to survive atmosphere re-entry. We will be testing this by dropping our capsules from a two story height while protecting a “cargo” from destruction.
