The minutes from the October 13 meeting were reviewed and approved with a name spelling correction.
Principal’s Report: (
The 150th Anniversary celebration of Catholic Schools has started with the purchase of our new banner, hanging in front of the school. Pins were ordered for everyone and will be distributed as the celebration is highlighted during Catholic Schools week.
Arlene and Fr. Jim attended the education retreat at the
Conferences went well and the Craft Fair is on target. We are still in need of a
Past-President’s Report: (Margie Schmutz)
Margie shared the minutes from the School Commission meeting. Fr. Jim shared his commitment to have a presence in the classrooms at the commission meeting. The commission is working on writing goals for the future. Margie gave the commission an update on the uniform review, to let them know a proposal will be presented soon.
Treasurer’s Report: (Joan McIntosh)
Checks are being issued as received. Joan wanted to make sure a reminder is in the next PTO news for people to get a PTO Co-President authorization on requests over $150 prior to being submitted to the Treasurer.
Auction: (Liz Kieffer)
The Finance Chair and Merchandising positions have been filled. They still need a Silent Closers chair person. The PC/Printer onsite set up and configuration position will need to be filled as the Weldy Family would like to have someone shadow them this year. Mike will talk with the Technology group to see if they can take over the responsibility in the future.
$100 Golden Ticket raffle tickets will be sold at Masses prior to Auction. Ticket holders need not be present to win; winning ticket holder will be able to pick any item from the live listing.
Projects and Centerpieces are on target. Procurement is going slow - Eileen Louthain and her team are working the business in the area and families are being reminded to keep their donations coming in.
Technology:
Another disk drive failed in the computer lab, the evaluation process has begun to replace all the computers in the lab. The technology team is continuing to move the staff user accounts to the new server. A motion was proposed and passed to spend now more than $1500 to replace the old computer in the PTO room. Mike and Carolyn will follow up with Carrie Carlson to get a new computer ordered and installed.
Sally Foster: (
$29,337 in sales to date, and 8% increase over last year. We had $6500 in internet sales this year compared to $400 in internet sales last year.
Memory Book: (Lynda Weldy)
The committee has 9 members this year. We have moved to a new company this year and will be able to push our final submission deadline out, in order to add additional activities, such as the play. Lynda moved to purchase a new digital camera for memory book use, the motion was passed.
Reader Board: (
Carolyn met with members of the Parish Facilities commission to seek another location for the school reader board. The original location was turned down by the City of
