Carpool:
There was a discussion regarding the impact of the new carpool rules.
The following was discussed:
- Traffic backup on 195th
-
Since there is no parking in the church parking lot how do we accommodate
families who are meeting up with other carpools, children who need to stay on
the school property for sports and children who need to leave quickly for a doctor’s
appointment.
- Children needing to put backpacks in the
trunk/back of cars.
Notes
were taken by Carolyn Casey who will review them with Mrs. Lunn and report back
at the next PTO meeting.

Script:
The script committee is in
need of weekday volunteers. They need
volunteers for both the am shift in the PTO room and the afternoon shift during
carpool. This would be a great job for a
mom with a toddler.
Emergency Preparedness:
The emergency preparedness
drill is scheduled for September 22nd. Volunteers will be
notified.
New Business:
Mrs. Lunn has asked the
PTO for $3,000 to help fund some new reading textbooks for grades K-3. A motion was made and
approved to help fund the books.
Mrs. Lunn is hoping to buy new reading books for grades 4-8 next year.
Old Business:
Reader Board – It’s still
a work in progress. The man building the
board for our school has injured his finger.
His injury has greatly delayed the work on the board. It should be here in the next few weeks. The school will need a volunteer to change
the board on a daily/weekly basis.
Hot
Lunch - The new hot lunch program has gotten great reviews! The kids seem to love the food. Mr. Callen has stated
that there is less garbage being tossed. Some areas for improvement would be having
the ability to have one credit card transaction per family and to be able to
order more than one entrée per student per day.
Closing:
The meeting adjourned at
