5th Grade
This week we will continue to study
individual organisms found in different biomes. We will also
explore the interactions between some of these species, focusing
upon symbiotic relationships.
6th Grade
This week we will begin our new unit of
study: Force and Motion. We will start with an overview of
Newton’s three laws of motion, followed by a study of Galileo’s
earlier theories on motion and his influence on Newton’s
theories.
7th Grade
This week we will begin our study of
Geology and Geologic Processes. We are beginning with a history
of Plate Tectonics Theory, starting with Wagener’s Continental
Drift Theory. We will follow this with a more detailed analysis
of the world’s continental and oceanic plates, focusing on the
boundaries between them.
8th Grade
This week we will continue with our study
of genetic traits and heredity as we review dominant and
recessive characteristics and introduce incomplete dominant
traits. We will look closely at how these characteristics are
displayed, particularly in the mammalian eye.
