Adult
Faith Formation
Numerous opportunities are available in the parish throughout the year for
adult faith formation. Current programs include:
-
Scripture Study
– The Tuesday Night Scripture Study group is currently studying “The
Seven Last Words of Christ: A Bible Study on the Passion of Jesus”.
Readers can study the seven short sentences uttered by Jesus as
he endured his crucifixion and be drawn closer to Jesus' Passion so that
the real meaning of Easter comes alive!
Each week covers a discrete unit, so you can join the study in
progress. The group meets Tuesday
Nights in the Narthex at 7pm, and this study will continue until March 3rd.
-
Called & Gifted -
God is calling you to
a unique purpose in life, a work of love that only you can do. The
Called & Gifted Workshop can be a major step in discovering God's
call for your life.
-
Catechetical Certification Program - This program
explores the Catholic interpretation of scripture, key theological
concepts, and the history of the church using the Bible, the Catechism
of the Catholic Church, and Church Documents. This program is for those
parishioners who volunteer to teach in our various faith formation
programs here at St. Brendan, and who are seeking certification.
Others may also attend in order to deepen their own faith
understanding.
-
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults – (RCIA)
is the church’s way of bringing new members into our faith community.
If you are interested in the Catholic Faith, or is someone who was
baptized Catholic but has not received any of the other Sacraments, you
are invited to join us every Monday night from 7pm to 8:30pm in the
Brendan House Dining Room. We meet year round and you are invited to
join at any time.
-
Adult Confirmation – We will begin Adult Confirmation classes at 7pm on March 5th,
the second Thursday evening in Lent.
Classes will meet for five consecutive Thursdays, and then for
two Sundays after Easter. Please
contact Linda Haptonstall at
lindah@saintbrendan.org
