SCHOOL DRESS CODE UNIFORM

Dennis Uniform

This policy is in the process of being revised. The new policy will follow.

The current policy is:

All students attending St. Brendan School will wear uniforms except on Non-Uniform days and other special days approved by the school principal.  Uniform Policy is to create an environment that discourages using fashion as a status symbol or arena for competition. Students not properly attired or groomed may be sent home and or given detention.  Continued violations of the dress code will be considered a serious matter and further disciplinary action may be taken.  Keeping in mind consistency and compliance and trying to avoid confusion, our school uniform will be revisited every three years (and then only if necessary.)  We ask the support of all parents in this uniform policy.  Dennis Uniform’s phone number is (206) 431-2000 and their address is 12608 Interurban Avenue S., Tukwila, WA 98168.

Non-uniform days
On the first Friday of each month that we are in session and other designated days, the students may have a non-uniform day. Students are expected to wear clothes appropriate to our school situation.  All clothing should be neat, clean and modest.  Any clothing that is tight-fitting or skirts/dresses that are too short or otherwise immodest is not acceptable.  (No cut offs, torn jeans, tank tops, baggy pants, low neck lines).  Summer shoes such as thongs and beach shoes are not allowed and socks are to be worn at all times.  Hats are not to be worn during school unless designated as part of a “Spirit Day” theme.  Uniform shorts may be worn in Sept., Oct., April, May and June.  Whenever shorts are worn, they must be uniform shorts.  On field trip days, the school will determine the appropriate dress, depending on the destination.  Non-uniform days will be interspersed throughout the year for special occasions.

Out of Uniform
If for a very urgent reason your child is out of uniform, a note with a satisfactory explanation is required each day your child is out of uniform.  Otherwise, the student forfeits the next "non-uniform" privilege.  An out-of-uniform slip will be sent home to be signed and returned to the teacher.
